#LifeAtCircularMaterials with Filippo

Meet the Team!

LifeAtCircularMaterials returns with Filippo!

We’re not quite sure how he does it, but Filippo has a way of putting everyone at ease with his disarming spontaneity and daily anecdotes. Yet, Filippo is much more than just laughter and lightheartedness—he’s the kind of colleague everyone wants: always ready to listen, lend a hand, or even “just” a smile when needed most.

At Circular Materials, we’re proud to have a diverse group of individuals with unique talents and backgrounds, all united by the same mission: to create a positive and lasting impact on our planet.

Click and follow us to discover how each of us, with our uniqueness, contributes to the success of our mission.

In the meantime, here’s Filippo’s interview:

1) What are your responsibilities at Circular Materials?

At Circular Materials, I work on developing formulas for our chemical precipitation processes to achieve maximum removal of pollutants, such as metals and hazardous organic compounds, from wastewater. In addition to the chemistry side, I oversee the engineering aspects of these processes, managing various preliminary and subsequent chemical treatments.

2) What was your educational background?

I earned my master’s degree in Sustainable Chemistry and Technologies from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, where I had the chance to research the use of supercritical CO₂ in the university’s green chemistry labs. Since my university days, I’ve been fascinated by sustainable chemical processes, and today, I’m excited to contribute meaningfully to this field.

3) How have you developed your skills at CM?

The multidisciplinary nature of the Circular Materials project has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of chemical plants from various technical perspectives, greatly expanding my understanding of our processes. Applying what I’ve learned to meet our clients’ needs is a constant challenge that pushes me to improve, enrich, and adapt my skill set to this environment.

4) How would you describe your relationship with the team?

The relationship with the CM team is fantastic: the young age and common educational background facilitate interaction and create a stimulating and dynamic working environment. Continuous confrontation on different projects is part of our routine, allowing us to contribute our experience and complementary skills.

5) What aspects of the Circular Materials project do you appreciate the most?

What I value most about Circular Materials is our commitment to the circular economy. Sustainable recovery of chemicals from waste makes this project not only innovative but also incredibly relevant to both the present and future.
