Batteries are central to sustainable energy, and Detroit—the “Motor City,” known for revolutionizing the automotive world—is now pioneering the future of electric vehicles (#EVs), #SmartMobility, and #EnergyStorage.
From October 7th to 10th, 2024, Circular Materials took part in The Battery Show North America, held at Huntington Place in Detroit. The event, which convened over 21,000 professionals and featured 1,250 exhibitors, was the largest since its launch in 2010, underscoring the rising global interest in #cleanenergy and #mobility solutions. The move to Detroit and the near doubling of expo space reflected the rapid growth and enthusiasm for advancements in #battery technology and electric vehicles (EVs). The show serves as the ultimate platform to explore innovations across industrial sectors such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and commercial.

Our CEO, Marco Bersani, and Managing Director, Michael Pinto, were on-site to engage with leaders in the field, explore new market opportunities, and stay informed about cutting-edge industry trends. This year’s show offered a range of keynotes and product demonstrations, allowing attendees to experience emerging technologies in real time. We also had the opportunity to meet with the #NAATBatt team, a leading trade association dedicated to advancing battery technology and manufacturing in North America. Their insights into the future of electrochemical energy storage will continue to shape the new era of electric transportation, renewable energy, and circularity.
One key highlight was the introduction of the Recycling Pavilion, which focused on the critical role of advanced recycling methods in driving a more sustainable and economically viable battery and EV supply chain. As sustainability becomes a priority, advanced recycling technologies are emerging to support a more cost-effective and environmentally conscious supply chain, perfectly aligning with Circular Materials’ mission.

As battery technology advances, the demand for efficient recycling of critical materials such as #lithium, #nickel, #cobalt, and #copper continues to grow. Circular Materials is proud to contribute to this transformation by #recovering and #reintegrating valuable resources from industrial waste streams. This helps foster a more sustainable future, reduces reliance on virgin resource extraction, and plays a crucial role in the global shift toward carbon-neutral transportation.
The Battery Show North America will return to Detroit from October 6th to 9th, 2025, and we look forward to participating again to continue advancing the circular economy.
