Last week, Riccardo Momoli, our Business Development Manager, had the privilege of representing Circular Materials at the “Ideas Powered for Business” annual event hosted by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante on September 13-14, 2023. This event brought together leading minds from the world of deep-tech innovation, intellectual property, and business strategy to discuss the intersection of #DeepTech, #Innovation, and #IPR (Intellectual Property Rights).
At Circular Materials, the importance of IPR in fostering technological breakthroughs is one of our core principles. Our approach to intellectual property has been instrumental in driving forward our cutting-edge solutions for the recovery and valorization of critical and strategic raw materials. Riccardo highlighted how a strong IPR framework has been a driving force in turning our innovations into impactful technologies within the raw materials sector.
During the panel discussion, expertly moderated by Ursula Schildt, Riccardo shared our journey and perspective on how IPR can accelerate the adoption of deep-tech solutions across various industries. The session featured prominent voices from the European innovation ecosystem, including:
- Jean-David Malo, who outlined the strong commitment of the European Innovation Council and the Executive Agency for SMEs (EISMEA) with a €10.2 billion fund dedicated to developing innovations and bringing them to market.
- Zsuzsanna Bódi from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), highlighted the critical role of talent and education in supporting Europe’s innovation ecosystem.
- Jacopo Losso of the European Business Angel Network (EBAN), offered insights into the shifting dynamics of seed capital for deep-tech startups.
- Bram Pauwels from the European Business Network (EBN), emphasized their commitment to supporting innovative industries and how startups can better leverage intellectual assets.
At Circular Materials, we are aware of the challenges and opportunities that deep-tech start-ups are facing. As pioneers of technological advancement, we operate in an environment that is complex, resource-intensive, and time-sensitive. Yet, it’s this very complexity that drives us to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to EUIPO and Sabina Rusconi for organizing this inspiring event and bringing together such a distinguished group of thought leaders. It was an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase our vision, and reinforce the vital role of IPR in shaping the future of innovation.
